Camp Work Days & Adult Worker Retreat

Camp is just around the corner, and there are still several projects that need our attention before the camp is ready for campers.  These work days are an important part of our preparation.  Work days are April 9, 16, 30; May 14 and 21; and June 14 and 18.  Work begins at 8:30 (but don't worry if you can't make it that early.  You can come whenever you can.) and will continue into the afternoon.  At noon, we will have a potluck lunch and interviews.  Remember, you MUST be interviewed to work at camp.  Hope you can join us and help prepare for this year's day camp and overnight camp.

We will also have our annual spring retreat for adult workers this spring.  Reserve Friday, April 29 - Saturday, April 30 on your calendar for a time of devotion, prayer, and fellowship at the camp.  Friday evening will begin with a time of worship.  Saturday will follow our workday schedule.

Applications for Camp Adults

Attached you will find the applications for camp adults over the age of 21 and for Junior Adults, ages 19 and 20.  These new Junior Adults will have adult responsibilities through the day, with their own cabin and single counselor at night.  They will enjoy some of the "perks" of being adults, like a later lights out, without having the cabin responsibilities of the adult counselors.  In this way, we are trying to provide training for those helpers who are coming up straight out of camp.  I will send that out as soon as I am able to get the application written up and approved by the board.

Please make copies of this to pass out at your churches.  Also note the changes to the application.  You will need to have a pastoral letter of reference AND your written testimony before your application can be accepted and you can be interviewed by the board.

Remember, May 27th is the deadline for helper applications for day camp.  June 6th is the helper application deadline for overnight camp.

About the SICC Youth Camp

The SICC Christian Youth Camp was founded for the purpose of giving the salvation message of Jesus Christ to youth in the area. It is an affiliate of the Southern Illinois Christian Conference and has been holding camps since 1977. A board of seven directors  oversees all camp activities, maintenance, and programs. The camp is run solely by donations so that there is no cost for a child to attend day camp or overnight camp. The camp is also used throughout the year for revivials, retreats, family reunions, fundraisers and other special events.
